The sky-ways/cords of the heavens ?

 Quran 38:10

Or [that] the dominion over the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? Why, then, let them try to ascend [to God-like power] by all [conceivable] means

another traslation :

Or is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend through [any] ways of access.

The use of the particle fi (in) makes it difficult to give the word the meaning of ordinary, normal, familiar rope and path, unless what is meant here is something extraordinary, unusual, something like a path and a rope that we do not know.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran):
38:10 Or [that] the dominion over the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? Why, then, let them try to ascend [to God-like power] by all [conceivable] means!14

Note 14
I.e., "Do they think that human beings are so highly endowed that they are bound to attain, some day, to mastery over the universe and all nature, and thus to God-like power?" Cf. in this connection 96:6 and the corresponding note. As regards my rendering of al-asbab as "all [conceivable] means", see note 82 on 18:84

.18:84 Behold, We established him securely on earth, and endowed him with [the knowledge of] the right means to achieve anything82 [that he might set out to achieve];

Note 82
According to Ibn `Abbas, Mujahid, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, `Ikrimah, Qatadah and Ad-Dahhak (all of them quoted by Ibn Kathir), the term sabab - lit., "a means to achieve [anything]" - denotes, in this context, the knowledge of the right means for the achievement of a particular end.
Let's look at Quran 55:33 and examine the different word usage and scientific data as it is relevant to the subject:

"Galaxy Filament

In physical cosmology, galaxy filaments (subtypes: supercluster complexes, galaxy walls, and galaxy sheets) are the largest known structures in the universe. They are massive, thread-like formations, with a typical length of 50 to 80 megaparsecs h−1 (or of the order of 200 to 500 million light-years) that form the boundaries between large voids in the universe. Filaments consist of gravitationally bound galaxies. Parts wherein many galaxies are very close to one another (in cosmic terms) are called superclusters."

''This changes everything…

The universe may be far more interconnected than previously imagined. Astronomers at the University of Hawaiʻi, analyzing motion data from over 56,000 galaxies, propose that the Milky Way might lie within a gravitational structure ten times the volume of the already immense Laniākea supercluster.

This newly suggested region, anchored by the massive Shapley concentration, challenges current models of cosmic structure and extends the boundaries of our mapped universe.

The discovery, published in Nature Astronomy, invites a rethinking of how galactic movements are influenced on a colossal scale.

The researchers liken the cosmos to a system of rivers and basins, where galaxies flow along gravitational currents shaped by immense attractors. This analogy paints a picture of the universe as a dynamic and interconnected web, with invisible gravitational highways guiding galaxies over billions of light-years. The findings suggest that our current maps may capture just a fraction of a deeper cosmic architecture, hinting at the existence of even larger structures—and perhaps a more unified universe—than science has yet observed.
